This hike from the Roque de Agando to Playa Santiago gives a good overview of La Gomera’s landscapes. You’ll also have a chance to try the local cuisine! At the beginning of the hike, you’re are passing Laurel forests, stunning palm groves, and vast bush landscapes. After the first descent, you are entering the rural village of Benchijigua, whose houses are scattered between the cultivated areas. Along this trail, you will see remnants of old villages and banana plantations. With a distance of 14 kilometers, a difference in altitude of more than 1,200 meters, this hiking trail takes around five hours. This trail is one of the most beautiful hiking trails on La Gomera. Time seems to have stood still in these parts. Please pay attention to sturdy shoes and sun protection! At the halfway point of this trail, you will find a great restaurant in the town of Imada. We highly recommend getting lunch there.
