After a recent eruption in 1909, the Volcano El Chinero hike brings you up-close to the world of volcanism! It was Tenerife’s last volcanic eruption and it was the same volcano that destroyed and preserved the bustling port town of Garachico in 1706.
This is an easy to intermediate trail, it is very exposed to the sun. It is an out of this world landscape. The beautifully green trees are contrasting the otherwise dark and mysterious rock landscapes.
Parking is provided free of charge at the Arenas Negras parking lot – as usual in Spain. Please use the link provided in the hike detail box below for Navigation to and on the hike. We’re using Komoot.com for all our hikes!
